ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Anika Vreeken and welcome to my creative portfolio! I'm currently pursuing a BAA in Fashion Merchandising at Central Michigan University, focusing on visual merchandising while also working towards a minor in Applied Business Communication. My passion lies in optimizing the presentation of garments, with a focus on bringing pieces to life through thoughtful displays. I'm particularly drawn to fashion and themes that are timeless, elegant, and minimal, and I value the concept of longevity in fashion—enduring styles that are powerful enough to stand the test of time and the momentary rush toward fleeting trends. 

 

What excites me about fashion is how it intersects with different aspects of life. I’ve spent most of my life surrounded by horses growing up as a competitive equestrian rider, and I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between fashion and horses, and the equestrian roots that lie within fashion.

Traveling is another significant part of my life, and it has allowed me to explore and connect with the world around me. I love visiting my family in the Netherlands, and traveling has given me the chance to experience different cultures and see how fashion reflects identity globally. It's been an eye-opening experience that continually inspires my approach to fashion and how I view the world.

My journey in fashion has been shaped by my love for both the creative and business sides, and I’m eager to continue learning and growing in visual merchandising, where I can combine my passion for design and brand storytelling.
